Great mission with strong leadership
Advocates is one of human services agencies that truly prioritize people. They definitely care about their employees and individuals served. Management is amazing and really push for you to succeed.

Fantastic PTO and meaningful work
Advocates offers a fantastic paid-time-off package. The work is challenging but having plenty of PTO makes the job far more sustainable. Health insurance options seem to meet industry standards.

Clients prioritized over employee wellbeing
The company is all about advocacy for mental health, but it takes their client's mental health into consideration WAY more than the employees. They simply do not care about the employees.

Low pay and poor management
Pay is terrible even after raises. There was also very poor management, especially during Covid. The company puts people in management positions that aren't qualified to be managers and overworks employees for low salaries.

Diversity and inclusion champion
This company has made employees realize that diversity, inclusiveness, and open communication does exist in companies. Great workplace culture.

Good benefits but understaffed
Benefits are good and the mission is important. However, clinicians are frequently under-staffed resulting in working multiple jobs at once. Outreach clinicians are asked to hold a substantial amount of risk without adequate support.

Burnout is high but work is rewarding
Burnout and turnover is very high and can be demoralizing. It can make it challenging to work with your team. These issues are endemic to the field but management could do more to mitigate them.

Creative and flexible workplace
You feel creative and flexible in your role. The supervisors are supportive and you are able to make a difference every day. Good career growth from direct care to management.

Constantly short staffed with no time off
Constantly short staffed and time off was almost impossible to have. Lots of vacation time with no chance to use it. Extreme under-staffing and clinician level work pushed on entry level staff.

Fair pay with good benefits
The pay is fair and there are many incentives including insurance and allowing further learning. The work itself is fulfilling but demanding.
