About Advocates Inc.
Advocates Inc. is a large 501(c)(3) nonprofit human services organization founded in 1975 that provides comprehensive services for over 45,000 adults, children, and families annually across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. While ABA therapy is one of many services offered through its Children's ABA Services division (including an ABA Clinic in Worcester, home/community ABA, Early Intervention, and The Darnell School), Advocates is primarily a broad human services organization addressing mental health, developmental disabilities, brain injury, addiction recovery, autism support, and community justice. The organization grew from a volunteer coffee shop at Westborough State Hospital to one of the largest human services agencies in Massachusetts, with major mergers with HMEA (2024) and Family Continuity (2024) significantly expanding its scope.
