About Anova Center for Education
Anova Center for Education is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2000 by Andrew Bailey, William Henkel, and Mary Beth Ludwig in Santa Rosa, California. The organization provides innovative educational and therapy services to children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, and other neurodevelopmental impairments. Anova operates two K-12 ACE (Anova Center for Education) School campuses in Santa Rosa and Concord, serving over 200 students daily and reaching more than 400 families across 15 Northern California counties. The organization employs nearly 200 staff and has served over 5,000 families since inception. ACE Schools are certified by the California Department of Education as non-public schools and accredited by WASC. ABA is offered as one component of Anova's multidisciplinary treatment model, which also includes speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, social cognition training, and sensory integration. In 2020, Anova entered a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice following a complaint regarding excessive use of prone restraint on a student with autism; the three-year compliance period has since concluded.
