About Anne Carlsen Center
Anne Carlsen Center is a nonprofit organization founded in 1941 in Jamestown, North Dakota, providing life-changing services for individuals with developmental disabilities or delays. Originally established as the Crippled Children's School by the Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society, the organization was renamed in honor of Dr. Anne Carlsen in 1980 and became independently operated in 2003. Anne Carlsen serves over 2,600 individuals across 13 office locations throughout North Dakota, employing over 500 professionals. Services include early intervention, clinical therapies (occupational, physical, speech, and behavioral health/autism including ABA therapy), residential services for behaviorally and medically complex individuals, community support (day habilitation and employment services), a K-12 Center for Learning, recreation and leisure programs, and assistive technology. The organization's ABA therapy program is BHCOE-accredited (since 2024, valid through December 2026) and also holds a BHCOE Training Site accreditation. Anne Carlsen is accredited at the highest level by the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) and maintains a 3-star rating from Charity Navigator.
