About Anchor Academy
Anchor Academy is a comprehensive, early intervention program rooted in applied behavior analysis (ABA) based in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Alice Keyl Austin (PhD, BCBA-D, LBA) under the name AKA Consulting, the organization expanded to a commercial space in 2017 to serve more children at a central location in the SW Portland/Tigard area. Anchor Academy provides intensive, center-based ABA services for children diagnosed with autism, ages 18 months through 5 years old, with 25 hours per week of programming (Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 1 PM). Additional intervention hours are provided in home and community settings based on individual need. The program features daily oversight of behavior technicians by Board Certified Behavior Analysts and serves as a practicum site for Oregon Institute of Technology graduate students pursuing BACB certification and state licensure as behavior analysts. Anchor Academy earned a 2-Year BHCOE (Behavioral Health Center of Excellence) Accreditation in 2019, recognizing its commitment to continuous quality improvement in ABA services.
