About Alternative Services Connecticut
Alternative Services-Connecticut, Incorporated (ASI-CT) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988 in Colchester, CT, providing services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as children and families facing emotional and behavioral challenges. ASI-CT operates as part of a national network of Alternative Services Inc. entities (including Michigan and Oregon branches) originally founded in 1978 in Michigan by Arthur Mack. The Connecticut branch provides 24-hour residential support through 16+ community living arrangements, in-home supports, individualized day services, supported employment, and clinical/behavioral services. Clinical offerings include functional behavioral assessments (FBAs), Positive Behavior Support Plans, individual and group counseling, nursing coordination, and trauma-informed treatment. ASI-CT is a qualified provider of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) waivered services, including the Autism and VSP Waiver. Note: ASI-CT is primarily a developmental disabilities services organization rather than a standalone ABA therapy provider, though behavioral consultation and functional behavioral assessments are core clinical services.
