About A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative
A.E.R.O. (District 806) is a public special education cooperative serving students with disabilities across eleven member school districts in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Founded in 1963, AERO provides low-incidence special education programming and related services to approximately 400-550 students ages 3-22 with physical and intellectual disabilities. The cooperative operates the AERO Therapeutic Center, a 150,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility completed in 2023. While AERO employs behavior analysts and uses behavioral approaches as part of its comprehensive special education services, it is NOT a private ABA therapy provider -- it is a public school cooperative governed by the superintendents of its eleven member districts.
