Abilis has a stellar reputation for providing services to those with disabilities in lower Fairfield County. Under new leadership the organization continues to grow. Staff are friendly and truly care about those served.

Low pay with few raises
Pay is poor with little room for even cost of living raises. Main concern is saving money rather than taking the best care of the kids.

Birth to Three management concerns
Youth management is highly unethical and does not follow mandated birth to three rules, which places staff in a terrible position. Staff are not well trained or prepared to work with the birth to three and autism populations.

Wonderful managers and flexible schedules
Managers are most of the time wonderful and easy to work with. They work with you to keep employees happy. Flexible schedules and great team members.

Meaningful but chaotic work
Working at Abilis can be chaotic at times, but you feel a sense of purpose and connection to the clients. You're doing good for people.

Fast-paced with poor communication
Job is fast-paced with no raises, too much work, and very bad communication. Inability to move up unless you know somebody or are related.

Company has great benefits including tuition reimbursement programs. Flexible schedules work well for students. Free lunches during trainings.

No support from upper management
There is no support system from upper management. Huge lack of communication within the agency. In certain houses, management is horrible with micromanagement.
