Toxic culture and high turnover

work Unknown public via Indeed

The company used to be fantastic but has grown way too big too quickly, and much of the current staff is very unhappy. The culture is extremely toxic and self-promoting, very much a 'drink the Kool-aid' situation.

thumb_up Pros
  • Meaningful work with autistic children
thumb_down Cons
  • Toxic workplace culture
  • Grown too quickly leading to dysfunction
  • High staff turnover
  • Favoritism-based advancement

Poor work-life balance and low pay

work Unknown public via Indeed

Work-life balance was extremely poor, and employees who are parents or have commitments outside of work were not prioritized. Salary and benefits were low compared to the field/market for all positions except BCBAs.

thumb_up Pros
  • Generous time off for school holidays
thumb_down Cons
  • Poor work-life balance
  • Below-market pay for most positions
  • Costly employee benefits with limited coverage
  • High turnover due to understaffing

Training repayment policy a concern

work RBT public via Indeed

Employees must sign a contract saying they will pay back the training if they leave before a year, with training costing $990. Many staff stay only because they don't want to pay back the training fee.

thumb_up Pros
  • Excellent training program
thumb_down Cons
  • $990 training repayment if leaving before one year
  • Policy creates retention through obligation rather than engagement
