In October 2023 the company (alongside Gatheca's other provider, Autism Behavioral Links) settled with the Massachusetts Attorney General for a combined $2.5 million — Ubuntu's share was $1.7 million — over False Claims Act allegations that it billed MassHealth for ABA services delivered by staff who lacked the required credentials, with three years of independent compliance monitoring required. The Better Business Bureau now lists the business as out of business, and news coverage refers to it as 'formerly of Worcester.'
