Great culture, room to grow
Coworkers are supportive and there is genuine room for growth. Pay is competitive but scheduling changes often, which makes work-life balance harder to maintain.
thumb_up Pros
- Supportive coworkers
- Room for growth
- Competitive pay
thumb_down Cons
- Frequent schedule changes
Ethical ABA approach, but supervision is stretched thin
Cortica uses a play-based, naturalistic ABA model that feels ethical and progressive, and partners with schools for more hours. Supervisors are overloaded, though, making it hard to schedule check-ins outside session time.
thumb_up Pros
- Ethical, play-based ABA approach
- School partnerships add hours
thumb_down Cons
- Supervisors overloaded
- Hard to schedule check-ins
Inconsistent protocols and supervision hours
Protocols, expectations, and supervision requirements change often, which is confusing. It was difficult to get the required RBT/BCBA-pathway supervision hours consistently.
thumb_up Pros
- Good hands-on client experience
thumb_down Cons
- Inconsistent protocols/expectations
- Hard to secure required supervision hours
Fulfilling work
It's an extremely fulfilling job. I feel like I'm making a real difference for clients and their families.
thumb_up Pros
- Meaningful client work
Strong culture of teamwork
After nearly nine months at the Woodlands location, the strongest part of my experience has been the teamwork and support among staff and leadership's approachability.
thumb_up Pros
- Strong teamwork
- Approachable leadership
Disorganized despite good vision
Cortica has a great vision and attracts strong employees, but execution is disorganized. Management can be both overly controlling and unsupportive at the same time; salary and benefits costs are below expectations.
thumb_up Pros
- Strong overall mission/vision
thumb_down Cons
- Disorganized execution
- Management inconsistency
- Salary/benefits below industry standard
