Bernalillo Academy was a residential treatment facility in Albuquerque, NM serving children and adolescents (as young as age 4) with mental health diagnoses, many of whom were in state custody. It operated as a subsidiary of Sequel Youth and Family Services (later Vivant Behavioral Healthcare). In December 2021, the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) ordered the facility closed after an investigation found years of staff-on-child abuse; Bernalillo Academy surrendered its operating license on December 1, 2021, ahead of the mandated December 22, 2021 closure. The facility is permanently closed and its website is now an inactive parked domain.
