LBA: Master's or doctoral degree from accredited institution with BCBA certification. LaBA: Bachelor's degree with BCaBA certification.
Must meet BACB supervised fieldwork requirements. LaBA must practice under supervision of LBA.
Must pass BACB certification examination PLUS New Jersey Jurisprudence Examination (25 questions on NJ laws and regulations). Jurisprudence exam failure doesn't affect BACB certification but prevents NJ license.
Biennial renewal. CE requirements follow BACB standards (32 CEUs every 2 years, including 4 ethics). Must maintain valid BACB certification. Late renewal within 30 days costs $75 additional. Can choose inactive status if not practicing in NJ.
Application Fee: $100. LBA Initial License: $200 (year 1) or $100 (year 2). LaBA Initial License: $100 (year 1) or $50 (year 2). Total LBA Year 1: $300. Biennial Renewal LBA: $200. Biennial Renewal LaBA: $100. Late Fee: $75. Reinstatement: $200. Duplicate License: $25. Verification: $25.
