Education Requirements

Must meet BACB certification requirements: Master's degree for BCBA, Bachelor's degree for BCaBA, with appropriate coursework in behavior analysis.

Must meet BACB supervised fieldwork requirements. Michigan defers to BACB standards for all experience requirements.

Must pass BACB certification examination (BCBA or BCaBA). No additional state exam required.

4-year renewal cycle. Must maintain current BACB certification. Required trainings: (1) 2 hours implicit bias training per year since June 1, 2021 for renewal; (2) One-time human trafficking identification training (beginning 2023 renewal cycle). CE requirements follow BACB standards (32 CEUs every 2 years).
