Detailed Requirements

Education Requirements

Must be enrolled in or have completed coursework at a Verified Course Sequence (VCS) meeting BACB's most current coursework requirements. Must meet BACB exam eligibility requirements.

Must meet BACB's most current experience requirements for fieldwork hours. Supervised by an individual qualified under BACB supervision standards. Temporary licensees must submit annual Report of Supervision and Supervisory Plan.

Must pass the BACB certification examination. No additional state exam required.

Biennial renewal - licenses expire every 2 years on the last day of the month originally issued. Must affirm review of KRS 319 and KAR Title 201, Chapter 43. Temporary licenses cannot be renewed. CE requirements follow BACB standards.

Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA): $400. Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LaBA): $300. Temporary LBA (TLBA): $300. Temporary LaBA (TLaBA): $200.

BACB certification is required for full licensure. Kentucky's ethics code supersedes BACB Code where there are conflicts, but BACB Code is otherwise mandatory. Supervision must meet BACB standards.

Kentucky has its own ethics code that supersedes conflicting BACB Code provisions (per KRS 319C.060(2)(c)). Temporary licensees must submit annual Supervisory Plan with measurable goals from current BCBA/BCaBA Task Lists. Medicaid providers must be licensed with ABA Board and enrolled as active Medicaid provider (Provider Type 63/639). Applications mailed to PO Box 1360, Frankfurt, KY 40602.

Additional Information
