Education Requirements

Must meet education requirements through BACB certification pathway. Master's degree required for BCBA/LBA certification.

Supervised experience as required by BACB certification standards.

Must pass the BACB certification examination. No additional state exam required.

Biennial renewal (24 months from issuance). CE Requirements: 30 hours during each 2-year period, including at least 4 hours in ethics. Renewals can be filed online through KSBSRB website.

Application Fee (LBA and LaBA): $70. Renewal Fee LBA: $120. Renewal Fee LaBA: $70. Duplicate Wall Certificate: $20.

BACB certification (BCBA or BCaBA) is required for state licensure. Kansas BSRB verifies BACB certification status as part of application process.

Initial applications are paper-based and require mailing; renewals are available online. 30 CE hours required per renewal cycle (more than BACB minimum), with 4 hours mandatory in ethics. ASWB Licensing Exam changes begin August 2026.
