Education Requirements

Must meet education requirements through BACB certification pathway. Proof of current BACB certification required with application.

Supervised experience as required by BACB certification standards.

Must pass the BACB certification examination. No additional state exam required.

Biennial renewal concurrent with BACB certification expiration. CE requirements follow BACB requirements (32 CEUs every 2 years, 4 in ethics for BCBAs). Renewal notifications emailed 30 days prior to expiration. Must maintain BACB certification. Random CE audits conducted; maintain certificates for 4 years.

Application Fee: $120 (nonrefundable). License Fee: $120 (waived for licenses issued less than 1 year). Renewal fee schedule per Iowa Administrative Code 481-507.3(5).
