Detailed Requirements
Must meet education requirements through BACB certification pathway. BACB certification verification performed directly by the Committee using applicant's certification number.
Supervised experience as required by BACB certification standards. LABAs must provide signed supervision contract with a licensed behavior analyst and documentation of supervision received.
Must pass the BACB certification examination. No additional state exam required.
Biennial renewal by December 31 of odd years. CE Requirements: 1 unit in trauma-informed care + 1 unit in either abuse/neglect or mandatory reporting. Must maintain current BCBA certification and attest to this at renewal.
Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA): $100. Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA): $75. LBA by Reciprocity: $75. LABA by Reciprocity: $50. All fees nonrefundable.
BCBA or BCaBA certification from BACB required. Applicants must be in good standing with BACB. Committee verifies certification status directly using applicant's certification number provided during application.
Social Security number disclosure mandatory per Indiana Code. Criminal background check required for all applicants. Applications abandoned if requirements not submitted within one year of filing. LABAs must provide signed supervision contract. Online applications through MyLicense One portal (mylicense.in.gov). Must link existing Indiana license records before starting new application.
Licensed Behavior Analyst and Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst applications went live on May 13, 2025 through Indiana's MyLicense One portal. Applications now processed online through Access Indiana account system.
